My first dslr camera

The other day, I received the sweetest e-mail from a wonderful gal whom used to be my neighbor.

Her question, "How did you get into photography?"

See when we were neighbors, I didn't have a camera attached to me like it was a third limb.

Like many, I have become a photog mama.

A dear friend of mine (ahem, Jamie Stull) shared some photography pages of some local photographers with me years ago. So instead of doing family photos with Olan Mills, Sears, or JC Penney, we started booking with local natural light photographers. {Shout out to Jaime Bare and Julie Paisley, whom were amongst the first that photographed us}

So guess what, my kids don't necessarily cooperate on command. And thus began the journey of my obsession with photography. I've fallen in love with freezing that memory, that look they get, the colors, the tones, the lighting.

I'm constantly in pursuit of the next image that takes my breath away. There are a million ways to learn and a million local and national mentors and forums to choose from. Like any craft, it just takes time and practice.

But back to the question, there is always that first step that leads to a thousand more.

This is where I started, Nikon D90 and the 50 mm f 1.8. and I still use it from time to time....

If you do decide to buy, I'd appreciate it if you shopped through the link below. It helps support my craft. Thank you.
